• How to use

  Remove the tube from the package. Hold it vertically and trim the end with scissors. Part your dog’s fur and apply the treatment starting at base of their neck. Apply equally in 3-4 spots along their spine ending at the top of their tail. Throw the applicator away.

• What’s in it?

  Wags Advance® topical flea treatment for dogs is produced in the USA and contains the same active ingredients found in Bayer’s K9 Advantix® II for Dogs:

  • Imidacloprid
  • Permethrin
  • Pyriproxyfen

• What does it do?

  Wags Advance® for Dogs topical flea treatment:

  • Rapidly and critically kills and repels ticks, mosquitoes, lice, and all three life stages of biting fleas (eggs, larvae, and adult fleas).
  • Is effective at killing fleas within 2 hours and existing fleas within 12 hours. This includes all types of fleas like cat fleas and dog fleas.
  • Kills and repels all life stages of ticks that may transmit Lyme disease. Wags Advance® covers the American dog tick, Black-legged deer tick, Brown dog tick, and Lone Star tick.
  • May reduce the incidence of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), a hypersensitivity skin disorder induced by the feeding activity of fleas.
  • Helps prevent dangerous diseases from flea and tick bites such as Lyme disease.

• How do I apply?

  Applying Wags Advance® topical flea treatment for dogs is simple:

  1. Find your dog and make sure the star of the box matches your pet.
  2. Prepare the applicator by holding it upright and cutting the tip with scissors.
  3. Part your dog’s fur and hold the applicator tip to your dog’s skin starting at the base of the neck.
  4. Gently squeeze the applicator to empty the contents equally in 3-4 spots from their neck to the base of their tail.
  5. Discard the applicator in the trash and resume snuggling once the solution is dry.*

• How long does it last?

  A single dose of Wags Advance® for Dogs is effective for 30 days. For best protection, we recommend treating the moment your box arrives.

• Does it cause any side effects?

  While typically very rare, flea treatments (topicals, chewable, prescription oral flea and tick treatment, wearable treatments like flea collars) can cause mild side effects.

  • Lethargy

• How is it dosed?

  One dose of Wags Advance® medication is EPA-approved safe and effective for dogs weighing at least 4 pounds. Each topical flea treatment is dosed according to your pet's current weight:

  • Wags Advance® for Small Dogs: 4 to 10 lbs
  • Wags Advance® for Medium Dogs: 11 to 20 lbs
  • Wags Advance® for Large Dogs: 21 to 55 lbs
  • Wags Advance® for Extra Large Dogs: 56 lbs or more
• Does it require a prescription?

  Nope! Wags Advance® for Dogs is delivered straight to your door without a prescription, vet visit, or trip to the store (shipping is free). But, we recommend checking with your vet if you are switching from another over-the-counter flea and tick prevention for the health of your pet.
• How old does my pup need to be?

  Your puppy should be at least 7 weeks old and at least 4 pounds before using Wags Advance® flea treatments. Learn more about when to start flea and tick treatment on puppies.
• Is it waterproof? Can I bathe my dog?

  Wags Advance® for Dogs is waterproof but requires the natural oils in your dog's skin and fur to properly distribute the active ingredients, such as imidacloprid, effectively.
  
  Avoid bathing your dog or allowing them to go swimming for at least 48 hours before and after applying topical treatments. If you bathe your dog often or want to kill adult fleas and remove flea dirt we recommend using mild shampoo.
• Can I use this product on my pregnant, nursing, or breeding dog?

  Our Wags Advance for Dogs topical flea & tick protection has not been tested on breeding, nursing, or pregnant dogs.

• Is it safe for cats?

  No! Wags Advance® for Dogs can be fatal for cats. Keep your cats away from treated dogs for at least 24 hours after treatment. Multi-pet owners — Paws Plus® for Cats flea, tick, and lice protection is for you.
• Does it work against ear mites?

  This product does not work against ear mites, roundworms, hookworms, or tapeworms. You will need a heartworm preventative in addition to this product. But, this product prevents and kills fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and chewing lice.
• Can I use other flea & tick treatments in combination with others?

  We recommend you pick one brand and stick to that treatment exclusively:

  • If you are using topical, we recommend bathing your pet in degreasing dish soap and applying our topical flea and tick prevention 24-48 hours after.
  • If you are using a flea collar, we recommend bathing your pet in Dawn dish soap and applying our topical medication 24-48 hours after.
  • If you are treating with oral medications, we recommend waiting 30 days after treating your dog before applying our topical solution.

• Why don’t you offer oral flea treatment for dogs?

  We currently offer topical treatments for dogs because they are the most convenient and effective way to kill and prevent pests and parasites. We started with a topical rather than an oral treatment because:

  1. Oral treatments reside in your dog’s bloodstream.
     This requires insects to bite your dog in order to be effective. That bite can lead to other health problems for your animal, such as Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
  2. Oral treatments typically require a prescription from a vet.
     Most oral treatments require a prescription from your veterinarian. Wags Advance® for Dogs is an over-the-counter topical flea treatment that gets delivered to your door just a few days after signing up.
  3. Oral flea and tick treatments are often more expensive.
