How to Use Flea Combs
1
Part your pet's fur
To effectively remove fleas, start by parting your pet's hair and inspect the most common areas (behind the ears, in armpits and groin, and under their tail). Remember to clean your hands before and after treating your pet.
2
Brush outward
When you find a flea or tick embedded in your pet's fur, it's best to pull the brush straight out, away from their skin. Dip the comb in a bowl of hot soapy water between strokes (when dealing with fleas) and isopropyl alcohol (when dealing with ticks).
3
Treat your pet
Positive reinforcement can be a great tool for getting your pet to cooperate. Provide lots of high-value treats like our Blueberry Muffin Treats or Beefy Bites.
